Five Rivers MetroParks to close early before winter storm hits Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Five Rivers MetroParks announced that it will close several parks at 4 p.m. on Sunday as a winter storm moves the area.

MetroParks staff posted the winter weather alert on their social media page Sunday morning.

There are a few exceptions to the closure.

The MetroParks Ice Rink at RiverScape MetroPark will be open until 5 p.m. and any reservations will proceed as planned.

Sledding hills at Germantown MetroPark, Englewood MetroPark (West), and Taylorsville MetroPark will remain open until 8 p.m. These parks could close if the parking lots are not cleared.

Depending on the impact, some parks may have delayed openings on Monday.

According to the post, some amenities and trails may be inaccessible once the parks reopen.
